
Who We AreThe mission of the Sihanouk Hospital Center of HOPE worldwide is to provide a center for the further education and clinical training of medical professionals, while delivering 24-hour high-quality, free-of-charge medical care for the poor and disadvantaged in Cambodia.
Board of DirectorsThe Sihanouk Hospital Corporation, a Delaware non-profit, tax-exempt corporation, was established in 1997 to provide an organizational structure for the operation and governance of the Sihanouk Hospital Center of HOPE in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors is Mr. Bernie Krisher, a retired Newsweek Tokyo Bureau Chief, the Chairman of Japan Relief for Cambodia and Publisher of the Cambodia Daily newspaper. The Vice Chairman is Dr. HaruhisaHanda (ToshuFukami), an independent Executive Business Consultant and leader of Worldmate, a Japanese membership organization that has shown tremendous commitment to the hospital since it's inception. The Secretary and Treasurer is Mr. Robert Gempel, Founder and Board Member of HOPE worldwide, an international charitable organization that provides management services to the Sihanouk Hospital Corporation.
Hospital Management
HOPE worldwide is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA) and provides full management services to the hospital. This includes the recruitment of medical and administrative personnel who sacrifice their own careers to move to Cambodia to help develop the hospital and train the Cambodian staff to sustain it for the long term. This also includes the provision of more than $20 million a year worth of medical supplies and medicines.
